CURTIS IN THE CHAT LOUNGE
Wednesday
25 January – 8pm
Up
for a chat? Curtis Gordon will be hosting a members
chat about:
"Are you one? A gay man who feels they have
no time for the gay scene and what it has no offer?
I wouldn't worry, you're not alone on that thought.
I'm fed up .. bored… 'had enough of the gay
scene' are all too familiar words uttered from the
mouths of many a gay men nowadays. Are we surprised
'hardy'? Many would say the gay scene is what you
make of it. We can hardly disagree with that, but
then what are we making of it? To many the gay scene
can b
e a place where they're able to let their hair
down, camp around and be themselves without discrimination.
A place to meet men, have a few drinks, fall over
a bit, no harm done… all harmless fun, eh?"
This month, our events host Curtis will be hosting
a chat session on our perception of the gay scene
and what it has to offer to the young and the more
mature gay socialiser.
FRIENDLY
SOCIETY
Summer
Beach Fundraiser for Stonewall - Thursday 26 January
The
Friendly Society is a favourite haunt in Soho, boasting
a unique retro kitsch interior and some of the funkiest
tunes in town. Big supporters of Stonewall, Maria
and the team are planning a fundraiser
on Thursday 26 January to coincide with their
fifth birthday celebrations. The venue is set to
be totally decked out in a summer beach party theme
for the night, while there are all sorts of surprises
in store, including a charity auction and other
treats. 10% of the bar takings will also be donated
to Stonewall, so the more we drink, the more Stonewall
will benefit. Now we like that idea!
CRUSAID
BENEFIT
Shamelessboyz
Theatre Company - "Taken In" - 7 February
A
new gay play by John W Lowell with Phil Price &
Gareth Watkins. A funny poignant and revealing story
of looking for love in all the wrong places. A chance
encounter brings two people of vastly different
backgrounds together in a journey of the heart.
Even the most generous man may still be capable
of fooling himself, but at what price? Taken In
is a play about love, trust, understanding and the
unexpected connection between two people.
"...enjoyable, amusing and well-paced ..."
The Stage
"...cleverly efficient modular scenery...deft
work on lighting...consistently incisive direction...extremely
talented British cast..." CurtainUp.com
Crusaid is proud to be the Charity beneficiary for
the performance of Taken In on the 7th February
2006. Tickets cost £15 each and can be purchased
by calling 020 8932 4747 or visit Crusaid
